Dear friends,
this is Germany’s first antiracist media-watchdog, called “der braune mob”, looking for some developing aid for our society once again.
Similar to the German UNICEF campaign “Schools for Africa” in 2007, where white children were supposed to show solidarity to african children by sporting blackface, we have another recent case now which is taking German blackface advertising to a whole new level.

The slogan goes “damit Sie braungebrannt aus dem Urlaub kommen und nicht Schwarz vor Ärger”
(”so that you return from holidays with a tan and not black from anger”).
Note: “black from anger” ist a German saying that’s being used by (white) Germans to this day.

I can already hear their excuse. It’s not racial, we’re just refering to being angery verses a bad sun burn.
But when white people get sun burned, they don’t get black; they get very red.
So red with anger would have made a lot of sense; where this doesn’t. This highly appears to appeal to racially denigrating views prevelant in Germany – basically using black skin to conjur a negative you don’t want to be, so be sure use our service isntead, so that you won’t be like one of those.
In my experience, the Dutch, Danish, Germans, British, Spanish, and French all use it in their ‘comedy.’ (Eastern Europe is straight up hostile to black people.)
I can understand- to an extent- using it when lampooning a particular individual and they need to appear black; but then bullsh!t like this shows up in marketing (like that asinine Sony advert in the Netherlands that had a demonic white woman grabbing a black woman by the face and appearing to scream at her.) and uncovers the real, backward, colonial-age mentality of the masses where the African is relegated to the role of a clown at best or subhuman at worst.
They like to claim that it’s just comedy, but they fail to recognize (much less acknowledge) the damage it does not only to the dignity of people of color, but to their own image.
No, not all Europeans are like this, but the ugly mainstream vibe is certainly present. Unfortunately, the US has a lot of work to do regarding racism, so I can’t be too bothered fussing with Europe. I’ll let the ethnic muslims handle that.
Can “anyone” please explain to me what African Americans or “Blacks” have ever done to any race of people to deserve such hatred???!!!??? Been around over 50 years and still wondering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
