Kenton
I spent several years in gabon when my father was shifted there. And true the west views dictators as the devil , but Bongo wasn’t as evil as this makes you think. Also Janice’s comments reminded me of Inge and I looked her up , and here is what she had to say about the death of her father in law.

I think this article is too biased. It is true , they did have a lot of money but no other African country can boast of as much peace as Gabon had seen. I looked up per capita earnings and it is higher than most other nations in the world. I don’t like dictators, but President Bongo s responsible for building Gabon. I was born in Gabon then I moved to the States and I don’t think any other country has had such long lasting peace despite having so many different tribes. His death was a great loss for Gabon.

I wonder if his son is any better. He is married to an American Inge Bongo, but he recently got a second wife in Gabon. Laws for common people don’t apply to their kings I suppose.
