I agree. I'm awake to reality. There is no true representation for the people in these United States of America. Never has been. The fat cats you speak of are corporations.

Corporations are people (according to the Supreme Court) who espouse the ideology of white supremacy with the disguise of Inc. That's some BS right there.

I recently told my wife that this all some BS. Obama. A so called progressive white Democrat Party. All of them are controlled by Mr. Corporation. Black political leaders have more or less become oxymoronic in terms of their political focus as opposed to black leaders of the 60's and early 70's. They've been bamboozled into a sellout is the way out mindset that is championed by the Presidency of Obama.

She (my wife) got pissed at me saying that I would no longer vote. I mean it.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who felt this way. I thought this brand of thinking went out with pro-black hip hop.

On the one hand, I used to feel this way; but my age and my reality have helped me to narrow my thinking. Right now, I have had some experiences so I see past the flimsy right/left spectrum.

The people we see on Fox, CNN, and other channels are paid to give a straight commentary and their credentials vary from the fact that they represent some think tank (like Project 21), they write for a paper or magazine, they wrote a book, etc.

Americans mostly are swing voters; they go from one party to another. They were unhappy with Bush, they went for Obama, they are unhappy with Obama, so more than likely despite the New Tea Party that is starting to groom candidates, more than likely, it will be the Republicans.

Most Americans dont want to read stuff like what you wrote here. They want somebody who addresses their everyday realities. Because I have had an issue with a mortgage company, my 401K is shrinking, and I'm just not seeing the same reality my parents saw, it just boils down to that; the idea that as Wu Tang said, well, you know.

I know America's past, I know and don't like the further waging of war around the world, and everybody has a right to feel that way, but how does that address our present day realities? And what can we do make our lives better? At the end of the day, it will take more than these politicians, Wall Street, or a defiant attitude.

Excellent commentary. A book that significantly transformed a young Black political revolutionary ideologue (me) was Enemies: the clash of the races by Haki R. Madhubuti (just as significant was another book of his, Black Men: Obsolete, Single, Dangerous?). The chapter, "Danger: From the White Left, the White Right and the In Between", opened my eyes and at the same time stripped me of any allegiance to the so-called "social/political left." These 2 statements reverberate as strongly today as they did when I first read them:

"The real crisis we face in the Black movement is the constant battle over white supremacist imperialist ideology, whether it's Communist or Capitalist, whether it's state property or private property, it still is the product of white people."

"What we have here is white world unity superficially divided into the Communist and Capitalist camps. Two sides of the same knife. Both systems were set up for the continuation and advancement of white supremacy."

Today in America we see Black people defining themselves by white supremacy political ideology: "I'm a Black liberal, "I'm a Black conservative", "Well I support the Democrats, the party of the Kennedys", "Well I support the Republicans, the party of Lincoln", and then go to hating and demonizing on each other, acting like political Bloods and Crips... while their white masters pull the strings of these Black puppets, cares nothing about them and knows that they only have to throw crumbs their way for them to be satisfied.

"But Obama is no crumb... he is proof that we have arrived at the table... in fact he now sits at the head of that proverbial table!"

Negro please! Obama ain't doing nothing for you! I read an article by an African-American journalist who tallied all the African-American votes and it was insignificant to his being elected. In other words, if all the Black people in America didn't vote for him, he still would have won. Don't you think he knew that! So first and foremost he will be taking care of those who lead him to the table. So to him you are like one of Tiger's mistresses... fun to f*ck, but he's already married!
