I am a 45 year old African American Woman. I am the mother of 4 children my ex-husband and I adopted--all under the age of 12. I am a democrat. For years and years I was a registered unaffiliate…independent, if you will. It all changed when I ran for office (pre-felon) as a democrat ( I won twice) and learned that you had to get down with a party to make shit happen. The choice was easy and obvious–the Dems know how to throw a good damn party and you don’t ever need a cover to get in–just a willingness to champion the underdog and to help take care of the world.
