"Too much so sometimes "

Never too much if it keeps him fully aware of all that he is!

"When I saved the pic..."

Okay, good!

"I gotta get to Panama someday. Sis. Ana is also from there and she has taught me that it’s full of African history."

I have to say that my living there was as an "occupier" due to the husband's getting stationed there (another reason I feel no affinity for the use of the term "Occupy" for these movements going on over here - it carries with it, too heavy and damaging a weight of history for so many peoples of the world!).

Before going to Africa, Panama was the first time I'd actually lived in a country where most of the people looked like me - it was a definite turrning point in how I saw my Blackness for sure. Yes! I believe I'd discussed Portobelo with Sis. Ana here before! She shared a video of a beautiful Panamanian group of women singing a song that I had to ask her to translate some of because my Spanish is so rusty now (use it or lose it is true!). I'd intended to have my friend translate the whole thing when I went to W. Africa, but "clean forgot" as my grandmother used to say! :-)

I skimmed the link, I certainly will check out that blog soon!

lol You're feeling is right on! Too much so sometimes lol

When I saved the pic it saved as "Madonna with flowers", however I liked you're name for it, so I used that in the title.

Btw... I gotta get to Panama someday. Sis. Ana is also from there and she has taught me that it's full of African history. One of the blogs I regularly read is The Silver People Chronicle.

You’re welcome, Man - and what beautiful kids! Why do I get the feeling that young man takes after his Dad! :-)

Just wanted to tell you that "Madonna and child" is what Icall it - because it was the first ever depiction of a Black, Madonna and child with which I could identify. And that wasn’t until I went to college! Didn’t see my first Black Jesus until I was living in Panama, married with children at Portobelo! (some commentary on the depth of the "whitewashing" in these alleged United States, right? Anyway, the actual title of the piece is ”Madonna with flowers.” Sorry for the mix-up.

The acceptance by so many Americans of the idea that taxing the rich would eventually hurt the economy and job creation is the result of too many Americans harboring the wild belief and dream of striking it rich someday.

What many do from now is have solidarity with the rich for that particular day when they will become part of this group. Only in this country people experience these wild fantasies. LOL.
The average citizen of this world( of any given country) is never going to become rich. This is the "Big Lie" which is part and parcel of the Republican party;and it gets even more funnier, because according to them, any one that critize this notion, is simply jealous. In reality, in this country the average family is middle class.

The rich is able to pull this one off here in the United States only because too many Americans suffer from an inferiority complex.
This slick trick or scam (bamboozle) is completely impossible to pull off in Europe and in the developing world. Frankly, the oligarchs in other areas have to use other scamming methods, this one is too silly.

"You can certainly use the video for your post. I claim no ownership of it as I found it on Aljazeera myself."

I know, but I tell you, it feels like I've never got enough time to check out all there is - you saved me a few clicks!

Either that, or it was supposed to come to me for my post, cuz the exact fact that, no matter where I turn, "Black/African people all over the world face a struggle for dignity," (something so easily accorded those who deserve it the least) - has been weighing mightily on my head and heart.

I will certainly let you know when it's done (next in line, after another thing that I've been trying to wrap my head around! which unexpectedly blind-sided me). Shan't be long! :-D

Asabanga...great to see you back! This video is so, so interesting. There are so many parallels to the US (as was your point, I'm sure). Mind if I use it for a post I'm working on? With attribution of course - because I probably never would have found it, if not for your post! :-D

I sat transfixed, waiting to find out if Ali won the regional elections or not! And while one constituent hoped he'd be France's Obama, I'm cautiously optimistic that he will not be (given their different backgrounds, different life experiences and most importantly, it seems he, unlike Obama, seems to be "walking his talk" for the marginalized - and his supporters believe it). Obama, using his supposed, "community organizing" gambit, pretended to care about marginalized Black folk in Grove Parc. Most Black folk believed him (many still do!). But it was only "talking the talk," political expediency for him.

I have too many comments on the video itself to post here! I'll try to address each one as I compare and contrast in my post - whenever I get it done! Thanx again for posting this...

In my 53 years, I have found non-black men to be sexually selfish and insecure in their own prowess. They are crushed at any hint that their wham-bam-thank-you-mam approach to lovemaking isn't completely satisfying to their woman and refuse to learn how women work sexually. Many are even confused as to their true sexual nature and spend time considering whether they're a "top" or a "bottom." Begs the question....are they truely men at all anymore?

No man in my life ever gave me an orgasm until I took a black lover at 50. He not only did it once but gave me that gift every time we met, before he got any pleasure himself. He also was an excellent flirt and enjoyed teasing and inuendo that never failed to have me ready for him when we met. In my opinion, black men have a higher emotional IQ, are sexually more secure and skilled, and as a result are better lovers. It isn't all about penis size.

I have had other black lovers since. While not all of them are the sex gods they think they are, most were WAY better lovers than their white counterparts. I will always choose black men.
